Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by coronavirus. Coronaviruses are large group of viruses common throughout the world and slightly differ in strains.

Most people with COVID-19 will have mild to moderate respiratory illness of which the symptoms are self limiting do resolve, without needing special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, HIV, TB, chronic respiratory disease, cancer etc. are more likely to get seriously ill.

The COVID-19 virus spreads through droplets of saliva or discharge from nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. That is why it is important to wash your hands and cough into your flexed elbow.
