Description
Job title: Information Communication and Technology Manager at Grain Marketing Board
Reports to: Finance Director
Location: Head Office
Key responsibilities:
ICT Strategy, Policy and Planning:
- Create and roll out ICT strategies, policies, and standards aligned with GMB’s mandate
- Lead digital transformation and automation across all business functions
- Manage ICT budgets, resource allocation, and support network growth at Head Office and depots
Business Systems and Innovation:
- Research and recommend technologies to improve grain procurement, storage, and distribution
- Drive innovation by using emerging technologies that fit enterprise goals
- Analyse, design, and implement systems supporting finance, logistics, and grain operations, including buying compatible ICT tools
- Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements
- Lead enterprise systems integration for smooth data flow and better decision-making across departments
Network and Infrastructure Management:
- Ensure reliable LAN/WAN connectivity across all sites
- Monitor and maintain ICT infrastructure for best performance and uptime
- Plan infrastructure upgrades and expansion aligned with global best practice and organisational growth
SAP Systems Administration and Support:
- Oversee SAP system performance, configuration, and availability
- Support integration with key business functions and provide troubleshooting and user support
ICT Security and Compliance:
- Set up and maintain ICT security controls to protect organisational systems and data
- Make sure ICT activities comply with laws, regulations, and GMB standards
- Carry out risk management related to ICT and data governance
Training, Leadership and User Support:
- Provide ongoing ICT training and technical support to all staff
- Supervise ICT staff, set performance targets, and drive team development
- Build and maintain a high-performing ICT team aligned to organisational strategy and innovation goals
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation across the organisation
Requirements & How to apply
Minimum qualifications and experience:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field required
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science required
- Must have SAP knowledge and a Professional ICT certification
- At least five years relevant experience in systems management or similar environment
- Minimum five O Level passes including English Language and Mathematics
Professional certifications that are an advantage:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching
- Cisco Certified Network Associate Security
- Certified Ethical Hacker
Key competencies:
- Strong IT literacy and technical ability
- Good understanding of GMB operations like grain procurement, storage, and depot processes
- Strategic thinking and planning skills
- Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide ICT transformation projects
- Ability to identify and implement digital solutions that improve efficiency and competitiveness
- Excellent analytical, communication, risk management, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and can work under pressure in a decentralised, high-volume environment
- Strong organisation, teamwork, and time management
