Operating Theatre Nurse

We’re Hiring: Operating Theatre Nurse at Cimas 35 Fife Avenue Hospital

Cimas Health Group, focused on building healthier communities, is looking for a motivated Operating Theatre Nurse. The role involves carrying out nursing duties in the theatre setting in line with Cimas procedures and international health standards.

What the Role Involves
The successful person will be expected to:
1. Liaise and communicate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other staff to keep patient flow smooth and resources well used.
2. Evaluate and prepare patients for surgery, making sure all necessary paperwork, consent forms, and pre-op steps are completed.
3. Keep track of patient vital signs, anaesthesia, and the surgical environment, and report any irregularities quickly.
4. Give post-operative medicines, manage wound care, and provide other treatments as directed by the surgeon or anaesthetist.
5. Follow legal and ethical nursing guidelines, with a strong focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
6. Apply strict infection prevention and control measures to lower the risk of surgical site infections.

Key Skills and Attributes
Applicants should have strong spoken and written communication skills and be able to produce clear, accurate reports. You should also be able to identify and solve work-related issues to get the right results. Good interaction, negotiation, and target-driven abilities are important.

Required Qualifications
1. A Diploma in Nursing.
2. A Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Nursing.
3. A current practicing certificate.
4. Between 2 and 4 years of practical experience working in a hospital environment.
