*Vacancy Notice: Regional Compliance Officer – Mutare*
The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority is a statutory body responsible for ensuring a fair, safe, reliable, and sustainable energy supply through effective regulation. ZERA is seeking a competent and results-driven individual to help carry out this mandate in Mutare.
*Key Job Functions*
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the role involves:
1. Supporting the licensing process for fuel and LPG operators within the region.
2. Conducting routine and pre-licensing inspections of fuel and LPG facilities.
3. Monitoring compliance to ensure fuel and gas operators meet licensing, pricing, and technical standards.
4. Handling legal proceedings against operators who breach licensing, pricing, or technical regulations.
5. Verifying that all licensees submit required returns on time.
6. Organizing training sessions for petroleum operators on industry standards and regulations.
7. Assisting with investigations into complaints, disputes, incidents, and accidents in the petroleum sector.
8. Taking part in consumer and stakeholder education and awareness initiatives.
9. Performing other assigned duties, including inspections and audits of liquid fuel sites.

Job Requirements*
Candidates should meet the following:
1. Hold a 4-year degree in Civil, Mechanical, Fuels, or Chemical Engineering from a recognized technical institution or university.
2. Have at least 5 years’ experience in the petroleum industry, including work with LPG and fuel installations.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of safety, health, environmental, and quality systems in the petroleum industry.
4. Understanding of petroleum industry standards and codes is an advantage.
5. Possession of a valid Class 4 driver’s license.
