Head of Pharmacies

Position: Head of Pharmacies

Role overview:
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will oversee pharmacy operations and strategy.

Key responsibilities:
- Create and implement strategies for FM Pharmacies in line with market opportunities
- Manage inventory systems, including planning restocking cycles, monitoring stock levels, and controlling slow-moving or obsolete products
- Expand the range of cosmetic and chronic medication products
- Set up performance measures to track financial goals and support decision-making
- Review and improve pharmacy systems, and recommend better information systems for efficiency
- Act as the risk champion for FM Pharmacies by balancing regulatory compliance with business needs
- Monitor the market, regulatory, and compliance environment
- Recruit, train, and manage staff, including overseeing site pharmacists
- Report to the FM Pharmacies Board on technical matters
- Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with relevant regulatory and professional standards
- Educate patients on safe medication use and health practices

Candidate requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Valid practicing certificate from the relevant regulatory authority
- At least 5 years’ experience in a pharmacy setting, with 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Solid understanding of inventory control, supply chain, and financial metrics for pharmacies
- Good business insight with the ability to balance compliance and commercial goals
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High levels of integrity and attention to detail
- Experience developing standard operating procedures and clinical protocols is an advantage
- Postgraduate qualification in Business Management, Project Management, or Supply Chain Management is a plus
