Relocations Officer

- Position: Relocations Officer
- Location: Sandawana, Mberengwa
- Reporting line: Reports to the Human Resources Manager, with a dotted line to the Head of Corporate Affairs

- Reason for hiring:
As part of the mine expansion, some community members are being relocated. The company is hiring an experienced Relocations Officer to manage this process.

- Main purpose of the role:
Coordinate engagement with Project Affected Persons and oversee livelihood restoration programs for them.

- Key responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact between the company and affected community members
- Build positive relationships, address concerns, and help resolve disputes between the company and the community
- Create and carry out community engagement plans that fit the needs of the affected people
- Help design and implement projects aimed at restoring livelihoods for those affected
- Gather, review, and analyze feedback from the community, then report findings and recommendations to management
- Prepare and track budgets for relocation activities
- Give guidance on cost-effective relocation solutions
- Organize meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns to share accurate information about relocation
- Ensure all activities follow mine health and safety regulations

Qualifications and experience needed:
- Degree or diploma in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Relations, or a related field
- At least 5 years’ experience in a public relations role, including 1 year in a supervisory position

- Required skills:
- Strong interpersonal and cultural sensitivity skills
- Conflict resolution and public relations expertise
- Prior work in community engagement, stakeholder management, or social development projects
- Knowledge of local government laws and policies
