Debtors Clerk

- Position: Debtors Clerk
- Department: Sales & Distribution – Southern Region, Bulawayo
- Job overview: Baker’s Inn is inviting applications for a Debtors Clerk role. The person will take full responsibility for key accounts receivable tasks.

- Main responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of accounts receivable, including raising invoices, receipting, and allocating payments
- Do regular reconciliations of customer accounts and clear up any queries
- Oversee and manage customer credit limits and payment terms based on company policy
- Flag and escalate risky, overdue, or delinquent accounts for follow-up
- Prepare and send out customer statements and ageing analysis reports
- Chase outstanding debts using phone calls, emails, and written letters
- Keep debtor records and filing systems accurate and current
- Make sure internal controls and financial reporting rules are followed
- Work with the sales team to sort out billing problems and account differences

Qualifications and experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or similar
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a debtors, accounts receivable, or credit control position
- Able to prepare, interpret, and present financial reports for business use
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Good communication and people skills
- Having a clean Class 4 driver’s license is an advantage
