Accountant

- Position: Accountant
- Job summary: Cimas Health Group, whose goal is to promote healthier communities, is looking for a highly motivated Accountant. The role is key in supplying financial data to management for decision-making, following Cimas procedures and International Financial Reporting Standards.

- Main responsibilities:
- Break down divisional operational and financial plans into departmental monthly, weekly, and daily schedules
- Collect budget inputs from user departments and review budget assumptions for accuracy and alignment
- Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and yearly budgets for the division
- Track and review cost drivers and suggest actions to the department head
- Check payment requests against budgets and advise the Financial Controller on approvals
- Create monthly cashflow plans by studying the business unit’s financial obligations
- Manage working capital, cash flow, and costs to make sure resources are used efficiently
- Put internal controls in place to prevent losses and keep financial data accurate
- Review debtors and accounts payable reconciliations and post correctional journals
- Ensure all tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements are met
- Lead, train, and develop a team of Accounts Clerks through on-the-job training, performance reviews, and mentoring
- Supervise audits and make sure internal and external audit queries are resolved on time

- Key competencies:
- Strong spoken and written communication with the ability to produce precise reports
- Ability to analyze and solve work-related issues to reach the right results
- Capable of meeting reporting deadlines
- Skilled in managing, training, and developing staff

Qualifications
Degree in Accounting or a related field
- Data analytics experience is an advantage
- At least 2 years’ experience as an Accountant in the retail industry
