Pit Superintendent

Company and location:
- Mutapa Gold Resources is recruiting for Jena Mines in Silobela

Position:
- Pit Superintendent role within the Mining team
- Reports directly to the Mining Manager

Key duties:
- Run daily open-pit operations including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling
- Implement short-term mine plans to achieve production targets
- Work with Geology, Survey, Planning, contractors, and Engineering to meet goals safely
- Track and improve equipment use, output, and uptime
- Review mining and operational risks and maintain a risk management plan
- Make sure pit slopes and mine designs are applied properly
- Keep operating costs aligned with approved budgets
- Lead planning and feedback meetings with staff and contractors
- Check that drill and blast teams have the right skills and manning levels
- Set up training and development plans for the section
- Push continuous improvement across all open-pit activities
- Enforce company safety, health, and environment rules
- Follow ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and other legal requirements

Requirements:
- Degree in Mining Engineering
- Full blasting license
- Minimum 5 years experience in open-pit production
