Assistant Brand Accountant

1. Job title: Assistant Brand Accountant.
2. Reports to: Brand Accountant.
3. Department: Reporting.
4. Liaises with: Operations Managers, Heads of Departments, Head Office, and Suppliers.

5. Job purpose: The Assistant Brand Accountant gives financial reporting, administrative and operational assistance to the Brand Accountant.

6. Key responsibilities:
- Helps prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements including the trial balance.
- Supports budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Monitors store financial performance and spots key sales trends.
- Does general ledger reconciliations and keeps financial records accurate.
- Reviews and submits payment requests to treasury for processing.
- Assists with inventory and cost control analysis.
- Prepares revenue and expense reports for operational units.
- Ensures adherence to financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Helps with internal and external audit processes.
- Provides financial analysis and insights to guide operational decisions.

7. Qualifications, skills & competencies:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, CA or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3 years experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Solid grasp of accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software and predictive tools.
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
- High focus on detail and precision.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Strong organisational and time‑management capability.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
- Ability to function with limited supervision.
