Vacancy Details
The National Blood Service Zimbabwe (NBSZ) is advertising a job position titled Mobile Team Leader. The role reports to the Branch Team Leader at the Gweru branch.
Job Description
The Mobile Team Leader is responsible for:
1. Organizing mobile or fixed-site blood collection activities.
2. Overseeing blood donor recruitment.
3. Gathering samples for laboratory analysis.
4. Managing plasma exchange procedures.
5. Preparing regular (bi-weekly and monthly) reports for decision-making.
6. Supervising the ordering and management of mobile or static equipment.
7. Managing mobile or static clinic personnel.
8. Ensuring blood bag quality and verifying equipment condition.
9. Reporting equipment problems or breakdowns.
10. Counseling blood donors (before and after donation) and handling complex cases.
11. Collecting blood samples from patients for testing.
12. Conducting apheresis donation procedures.
13. Leading blood donation education sessions at collection sites.
14. Performing pre-donation screening according to set guidelines.
15. Confirming donor identity, recording information, and assigning blood bags.
16. Providing donor care after bleeding and issuing thank-you notes or incentives.
17. Identifying and managing adverse reactions in blood donors.

1. A nursing degree or diploma.
2. A counseling qualification.
3. A valid practicing certificate.
4. Proficiency in English and Mathematics at an ordinary level.
5. At least two years of experience in a similar role.
