SHEQA Officer

Hiring a SHEQA Officer position at Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, a local and international supplier of high‑quality and long‑lasting timber products for industrial and consumer markets. The role is based in Mutare and reports to the SHEQA Manager.

Job overview:
The purpose is to create and put into practice effective Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Assurance management systems that follow the company’s policies, procedures and legal requirements.

Main tasks and responsibilities include:
1. Putting in place the company’s occupational health and safety plan.
2. Promoting a positive safety culture within the organisation.
3. Organising SHEQA awareness programs, training sessions, risk evaluations, safety inspections and accident investigations.
4. Making sure all SHEQA rules and regulations are followed.
5. Handling the integrated management system that covers ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.

Requirements for the role:
1. A bachelor's degree in environmental science, SHE management or a related field.
2. A professional qualification in safety, health and environment is mandatory.
3. Knowledge of ISO 45001:2018, 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 standards and auditing skills are a plus.
4. At least two years of post‑graduate experience in manufacturing, mineral processing or a similar industrial environment.

Needed skills and knowledge:
- Ability to work in a team, spot skill gaps and suggest corrective actions.
- Strong presentation abilities, especially with PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical skills, including proficiency with Excel spreadsheets.
