Class 2 Carpenter

We are hiring an experienced Class 2 Carpenter to join the engineering team at Mutapa Gold Resources in Silobela. The position works under the Mechanical Foreman.

Job description:
The role needs a skilled carpenter to handle various tasks in the mine’s facilities.

Key duties include:
- Interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to carry out carpentry jobs.
- Accurately measuring, marking, and cutting materials.
- Constructing and fitting wooden frameworks, partitions, doors, windows, and roof parts.
- Performing regular repairs on wooden structures and fittings to keep them safe and functional.
- Replacing or fixing worn carpentry parts in the mine’s infrastructure.
- Doing scheduled maintenance work.
- Working with engineers and other tradespeople like plumbers, electricians, and masons to integrate carpentry into the broader mining setup.
- Following SHEQ guidelines and ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards along with other legal frameworks.

Requirements for the candidate:
- Journeyman Class 2 Carpentry certificate with Joinery.
- At least three O‑level passes including subjects like Woodwork or Building Studies.
- Good physical fitness.
- Minimum of three years proven experience in a reputable organization.
