Description
TIMB,is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill a 12‑month fixed‑term position of Procurement Assistant at the TIMB Head Office.
Job details
The role reports to the Procurement Officer.
Main duties
- Prepare bidding papers for competitive and restricted tenders, direct purchases and consultancy services.
- Attend tender openings, pre‑bid and site meetings.
- Help with tender evaluation sessions.
- Compile monthly, quarterly and annual procurement reports and returns.
- Assist in drafting and managing contracts.
- Run request‑for‑quote processes in line with the PPDA Act and TIMB rules and procedures.
- Create purchase orders for suppliers and relay order information between suppliers and users.

Requirements & How to apply
Minimum requirements
- Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
- At least one year of post‑graduate experience in a similar role, preferably in the public sector.
- Membership of a professional procurement body like CIPS is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement or Supply Management or an equivalent qualification is an advantage.
Other skills needed
- Ability to use procurement software such as EQP systems.
- Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
- Good communication and report‑writing skills.
- Knowledge of local procurement regulations and public sector policies.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work alone or in a team.
