Supply Chain Officer – Head Office (x2) – Grade 12

The position reports to the Supply Chain Category Lead. The successful applicant will lead and direct procurement management, development, planning, execution, and risk control activities to fulfill business objectives.

Main responsibilities
- Follow the organization’s buying policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to guarantee transparent, fair, and compliant processes.
- Make sure all purchasing actions support and strengthen the overall business strategy, including managing suppliers and ensuring they are involved in every aspect of contract administration.
- Examine total supply chain risks, spot chances to reduce or remove potential threats, and make sure agreements are understood and goods or services are delivered on time.
- Keep procurement files and records up to date, track requisitions, contracts, and orders while monitoring inventory and budget goals.
- Set up tender standards and prepare bidding documents for public or limited purchases of materials and services.
- Check all invoices for compliance with contract terms, pricing, and delivery conditions, and make sure contracts are closed properly.
- Use market research and supplier evaluation tools to find profitable procurement opportunities and create a series of quick actions that improve efficiency.
- Build a suitable contract framework for future supplier management that covers creation, negotiation, and performance monitoring with clear contractor reviews highlighting contractual obligations.
- Review and standardize existing contract terms and make continuous adjustments to ensure costs are monitored and reviewed within budget limits.
- Produce regular procurement reports for senior management to monitor performance against KPIs, contract duties, and service level agreements.
- Conduct benchmarking studies and analysis to ensure the company achieves continuous value, creativity, feasibility, and sustainability across the whole supply chain.
- Design and manage monitoring systems that clearly highlight cost savings by category or supplier and verify performance and compliance.
- Continuously watch the external business environment and keep track of changes in the institutional and purchasing environment.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and procedures such as PRRA processes.
- Develop strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders and external providers to make sure strategic and operational needs are fully understood and incorporated.

Requirements & How to apply

Qualifications and requirements
- A degree in Purchasing & Supply, Business Studies, Business Management, or Social Sciences with at least an Upper Second Class (2:1) in Purchasing and Supply.
- A professional qualification in procurement (e.g., CIPS) is an advantage.
- Membership in a professional body in Purchasing and Supply is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain or Management environment.

Key competencies and characteristics
- Deep understanding of Public Procurement regulations.
- Strong negotiation and leadership abilities.
- Excellent experience with tendering processes.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Team orientation.
