Description
TIMB advertises a Legal Assistant position that is a permanent role based at the company's Head Office.
The job reports to the Company Secretary and involves the following main duties:
- Reviewing and giving legal opinions on agreements and memoranda of understanding.
- Offering legal protection and risk guidance especially on contract administration.
- Checking and advising on the legal effects of internal policies and procedures through compliance audits.
- Carrying out regular compliance checks to ensure departments meet statutory obligations and good corporate governance standards.
- Helping the Board stay in line with internal and external legal and regulatory requirements.
- Drafting and examining contracts or other documents the Board needs to sign and assessing their legal impact for senior management.
- Giving precise legal support and advice on how the Board should operate based on sound legal principles.
- Examining and preparing legal advice on management contracts with third parties.
- Giving instructions for litigation matters that affect the Board and making sure the best external service provider handles the case.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly reports for executive meetings.
- Attending management meetings when the Company Secretary is absent.
- Capturing and submitting Board Resolutions to the parent Ministry.
- Preparing and sending quarterly Corporate Governance reports to the Company Secretary for review.

Requirements & How to apply
Qualifications and experience needed are:
- A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
- At least 2 years of commercial law experience, with one year in a state‑owned enterprise providing legal services.
Other requirements include:
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- A valid class 4 drivers licence.
- Results‑driven attitude.
- Ability to work with others.
- Attention to detail and organisational awareness.
