Description
The Council of Social Workers of Zimbabwe, a statutory body created under the Social Workers Act [Chapter 27:21], is seeking qualified and experienced applicants for the Board Secretary position located in Avonlea.
Key duties of the role include serving as the main governance and statutory officer of the Council, responsible for:
- Guiding the board on governance, legal compliance, and procedural issues.
- Organising Council and Committee meetings, preparing agendas and ensuring accurate minutes are kept.
- Keeping statutory records, registers, and confidential documents.
- Ensuring the organisation follows the Social Workers Act and related laws.
- Assisting with disciplinary, ethical, and professional regulatory processes.
- Acting as the communication link between the Council, Ministry, Secretariat, and other stakeholders.

Requirements & How to apply
Qualifications and experience required are:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Administration, Governance, Social Sciences, or Business Administration.
- Professional certification in Corporate Governance or Company Secretarial Practice (a Law qualification is an advantage).
- Registration with a recognised professional body such as ICSA or CGISA (preferred).
- At least three years’ experience in corporate governance, board secretariat work, or statutory bodies.
