Accountant

Mutapa Gold Resources is looking for a skilled Cost Accountant for Projects and Asset Management to work in Bindura.

The job is about managing project and asset accounting and reporting to the Management Accountant.

Key duties involve:
- Making sure health, safety, environment and quality standards are upheld.
- Working with managers to prepare project budgets and applications for capital spending.
- Checking project expense reports before projects start.
- Doing financial forecasts to predict cash needs and possible risks.
- Giving technical accounting help throughout projects.
- Reviewing project costs to make sure they match budgets and contracts.
- Keeping detailed records of project spending for good resource use.
- Preparing clear financial reports for managers and stakeholders regularly.
- Checking for and reporting any cost differences between actual spending and approved budgets.
- Getting approval for project changes before money is spent.

Requirements:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent qualification.
- Project Management, CA, CIMA, CIS or ACCA is a plus.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience after qualification.
