Electrician

Zuva Petroleum is looking for a skilled electrician to work in Harare on projects and maintenance engineering

Skills and competencies required:
- Good verbal and written communication for accurate reporting.
- Ability to plan and organize to meet job requirements.
- Skill in analyzing and fixing work-related issues to get the right results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Duties and responsibilities include:
- Installing, fixing, and repairing electrical wiring, gear, and control systems.
- Diagnosing electrical problems and doing the right maintenance.
- Doing preventive and routine electrical upkeep in line with maintenance plans.
- Reading and understanding electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Checking electrical systems to make sure they meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Handling breakdown repairs via the help desk.
- Doing risk assessments before repair work and following SHEQ policies.
- Checking and following up on closure notices by contractors.
- Doing bi-annual inspections, filling out checklists, and sending them to the Projects and Maintenance Engineer for preventive maintenance and statutory needs.
- Testing electrical systems and circuit continuity in wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure system compatibility and safety.

Qualifications and experience needed:
- A national diploma in electrical engineering from an accredited school.
- A valid Class 1 journeyman license.
- At least two years of experience in electrical installations and maintenance.
- Preferably experience with hydrocarbons, aviation, and LPG operations.
