SONOGRAPHER

CANDIDATE SHOULD BE BASED OR WILLING TO RELOCATE TO KADOMA

The Sonographer will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in support of patient diagnosis and treatment. The role involves working closely with doctors, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and excellent service delivery. The Sonographer must be able to operate ultrasound equipment, interpret images at a technical level, and provide preliminary observations while maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1.Conduct a wide range of ultrasound procedures including obstetric, abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and small-parts scans.
2.Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, taking relevant medical histories, and ensuring comfort.
3.Capture and record clear, accurate ultrasound images for diagnostic purposes.
4.Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
5.Work collaboratively with radiologists and referring clinicians to support accurate diagnoses.
6.Ensure adherence to patient safety protocols, infection control practices, and clinical guidelines.
7.Document findings accurately and compile preliminary reports where required.
8.Manage patient appointments and workflow to ensure smooth service delivery.
9.Safeguard patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
10.Participate in continuous professional development and uphold Medical Imaging standards of practice.

1.Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Imaging, or related field from a recognised institution.
2.Registration with the Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (AHPCZ) and a valid practicing certificate.
3.Demonstrated experience in performing a broad range of ultrasound examinations (clinical experience may be required or preferred).
4.Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to sonographic imaging.
5.Proficiency in operating ultrasound scanners and related medical imaging equipment.
6.Excellent communication and patient-care skills, with the ability to work with diverse clinical teams.
7.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ethical practice.
8.Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
9.Basic computer literacy for managing digital imaging systems and report entry.
