MAVAMBO ORPHAN CARE: VARIOUS POSTS
MOC is seeking qualified, dedicated and passionate professionals for various posts that have risen within the organization.
1. SCHOOL FEEDING OFFICERS
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and supervise school feeding activities in targeted schools
• Work closely with school authorities, caregivers, and communities to ensure efficient school feeding programme
• Monitor food stock levels, usage, and storage to reduce wastage and ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards
• Conduct regular school visits to assess programme performance and identify areas for improvement and provide on the spot capacity development
• Compile and submit accurate database on school feeding programme
• Support capacity building of volunteers, community members, and school authorities involved in the programme
Qualifications & Experience
• A Diploma/Degree in relevant field (Agriculture, Social Sciences, Nutrition, Development Studies, Education, Public Health, Nursing);
• Class 3 Drivers license a must;
• At least 4 years managing school feeding programme/s in Government or NGO;
• Experience of liaising with Government, NGO and community groups;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels;
• Highly dependable, with the ability to organise own work and prioritise tasks;
• Highly computer literate with good knowledge in Microsoft Office (excel and word);
• Proficiency in report writing, documenting and community and Government engagement.
2. PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT OFFICER
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong empathy for children, youth, and vulnerable communities, alongside a commitment to improving their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide psychosocial support services and counselling to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and their families
• Facilitate one on one, group and family-centred therapy and life-skills
• Work collaboratively with community stakeholders, local structures and caregivers
• Maintain accurate documentation, case files, and progress reports
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Class 4 Drivers License a must
• Minimum of 6-year experience in psychosocial support and counselling or similar role, working with orphans and vulnerable children in community-based programmes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate cultural sensitivity
• Good report-writing and computer literacy skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
3. SOCIAL WORKER
Assist in the implementation of programmes in increasing access to services by beneficiaries, support child protection in the implementation of case management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide counselling, referrals, and follow-up support to ensure child protection
• Facilitate community awareness activities on child protection and safeguarding
• Work closely with local child protection stakeholders (community-based social workers, childcare workers, child protection committees, schools, community leaders and victim friendly unit
• Timely reporting in line with Department of Social Department and organizational standards
• Ensure adherence to safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical standards
Qualifications & Experience:
• Honours Degree in Social Work from a recognized institution;
• Class 4 Drivers License a must;
• Minimum of 6-year experience working with orphans and vulnerable children and their households;
• Registration with a relevant professional board/association is an added advantage;
• Sound knowledge of child protection policies and national legal frameworks;
• Strong communication and case management skills;
• Computer literacy and report-writing skills; and
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
4. GRADUATE TRAINEES
Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of the Programmes.
Qualifications:
• Recent graduates (in the past year or two) in Social Work (diploma/degree) from a reputable institution
