Job Opportunity: Database Administrator – First Mutual Holdings Limited

First Mutual Holdings is looking for a qualified and experienced Database Administrator to join their team.

Role Summary:
Reporting to the Infrastructure and Networks Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Setting up, configuring, and managing the company’s databases to ensure they are secure, high-performing, and reliable.
- Offering 2nd and 3rd level database support while addressing service requests and system issues.
- Maintaining data integrity, security, and compliance with set policies and standards.
- Handling database backups, recovery processes, and supporting continuity in operations.
- Supporting both on-premises and cloud-based database systems.
- Managing user access, database patches, upgrades, and security measures.
- Ensuring data protection compliance, especially with the Data Protection and Privacy Act.
- Creating and managing data repositories and structures for business intelligence.
- Writing and updating technical documentation and standard procedures.

Candidate Profile:
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in database administration.
- - In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle (or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of data security, backup/recovery systems, and replication.
- Experience using data analytics tools or concepts.
- Familiarity with backup systems like Veeam or Veritas.
- Skills in using database monitoring and optimization tools.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
