About MSF Southern Africa
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Southern Africa is part of a worldwide humanitarian medical organisation committed to providing impartial healthcare to communities affected by armed conflict, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and barriers to medical access. The Role: Face-to-Face & Telemarketing Officer
Are you a results-driven fundraising or sales professional who is passionate about humanitarian work?
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and strengthening the performance of external fundraising agencies. You will ensure effective donor acquisition and retention through active field engagement, training, quality assurance, and performance analysis. This position is ideal for an energetic leader who can motivate teams, improve campaign effectiveness, and uphold MSF’s ethical standards while supporting life-saving humanitarian programmes.

Key Responsibilities
• Agency and field leadership: Act as MSF’s on-the-ground representative by building strong relationships with agency managers and teams, conducting regular monitoring visits, providing coaching, and addressing operational challenges.
• Training and quality control: Facilitate training sessions, observe face-to-face interactions and telemarketing calls, refine scripts and techniques, implement quality assessment frameworks, and ensure accurate representation of MSF’s mission and values.
• Performance tracking and analysis: Monitor key indicators such as conversion rates, donor retention, and return on investment; compile performance reports; and work with digital, business intelligence, and retention teams to optimise outcomes.
• Compliance and donor care: Ensure adherence to ethical fundraising standards, branding guidelines, and data protection legislation (PoPIA); conduct audits; and manage donor feedback and complaints effectively.
• Administration and coordination: Oversee contracts, invoices, logistics, dashboards (including Salesforce), procurement processes, and agency renewals.
Collaboration and innovation: Share insights to improve campaigns and donor journeys, support system integration, and identify new methods to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
